Google launches Android 5.0 Lollipop SDK

Google on Friday delivered the Android 5.0 Lollipop software developer kit, images for the Nexus 5 and Nexus 7 as well as updates to its Material Design user interface.

With the launch of the latest Android, Google is aiming to unify the experience across multiple screens. It'll need developers to deliver that promise. Google dropped Android emulators and a series of tools for developers. The aim is to roll out the latest Android in November to the latest Nexus devices as well as the ones from previous years.
In a blog post, Google noted that:

Now is the time to test your apps on the new platform. You have two more weeks to get ready.
In addition, Google outlined more specifications for its Material Design approach. The guidelines include whiteframe downloads, swatches and icons.
